Job Description

Urja Developers Pvt. Ltd., a leading company engaged in the development and implementation of hydropower projects in Nepal, invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Senior Electromechanical Engineer (Division Lead).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Electromechanical Division for multiple hydropower projects.
  • Supervise the planning, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment (turbines, generators, switchgear, control systems, etc.).
  • Oversee the Plant Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team, ensuring optimal performance, scheduled preventive maintenance, and real-time troubleshooting of plant systems.
  • Coordinate with national and international suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure quality assurance and compliance with technical specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the engineering team.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide mitigation strategies related to electro-mechanical systems.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in electro-mechanical works for hydropower projects (preferably 5 years in a leadership role).
  • Proven experience in installation and commissioning of electro-mechanical systems (5 MW and above).
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC conditions, power plant systems, and applicable international standards.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
