Structural Engineer

Job Description

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, and development of detailed drawings for various hydropower components required during the detailed design and construction phases. This includes ensuring the designs meet safety, stability, and functionality requirements while adhering to industry standards and codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis and design of key hydropower to ensure safety, stability, and compliance with design codes.
  • Formulation of Design Basis Memorandum (DBM) to document the basis for the development of the design. This includes establishing the design and functional criteria, preparing layouts and design concepts of all project facilities/components, and defining key engineering parameters such as Assumptions and standard references, Loading conditions and factors of safety, Allowable stress and stability criteria, Other essential design factors for detailed structural design etc. 
  •  Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications for construction, ensuring designs are optimized for cost, safety, and functionality.
  •  Collaborate with other teams to integrate structural designs with other project components and ensure seamless execution.
  •  Oversee construction, provide technical support, monitor adherence to design specifications, and conduct quality assurance checks throughout the project.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in structural design of hydropower components.
  • Must have been involved in structural design of at least one hydropower project at the Detailed Design Stage.
  • Proficiency in structural design software such as SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of national and international design standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
