Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated Mechanical Engineers specializing in hydromechanical design and site supervision for hydropower projects. The ideal candidates will be responsible for design, optimization, cost estimation, technical specification preparation, and site supervision of hydromechanical components during fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze hydromechanical components ensuring optimal performance and durability.
  • Conduct stress and fatigue analysis and select appropriate materials.
  • Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and reports for procurement and construction.
  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, and structural teams for integrated design solutions.
  • Supervise the fabrication, installation, and commissioning of hydromechanical systems.
  • Perform site inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards (ASME, ASTM, IS, IEC) and safety Provide technical support and assist in resolving on-site challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum tertiary qualification is Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in hydromechanical design and or site supervision for hydropower projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar) and Hydrodynamic and structural analysis tools.
  • Experience in the design and construction supervision of at least one hydropower project.
  • Knowledge of hydropower equipment standards (ASME, ASTM, IS, IEC).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work on-site as required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in operations and maintenance of hydropower plants.
  • Preference will be given to candidates willing to stay at the project site for extended periods during the construction and supervision phases.
